Facilitating Consensus in Groups With R. Bruce Williams
CONSENSUS GENERATION
This activity-oriented, experiential workshop will model four basic strategies for creating consensus. Through these strategies, the group will experience first hand the effectiveness of the elements of individual thinking, mini-team dialogue, and whole group discussion and consensus. In conclusion, the participants will work on the application of these strategies to actual consensus-building needs in their work situations.
TEAM BUILDING AND EMPOWERMENT
This presentation is a highly experiential workshop demonstrating a variety of tools and methods to help build teams for implementing self-empowered change. Workshop products summarize the group's thinking on what they want to see happening, what objective blocks are standing in the way of this and finally what action arenas will bring the desired change.
FACILITATION SKILLS TRAINING
Two facilitation skills are highlighted in this training opportunity. Planning a successful workshop format is the first. Structuring a discussion or conversation that can lead to closure and decision is the second. Depending on the length of time available and the needs of the particular situation a training format can be created to give both experience and hands-on training in the above two facilitation skills.
